Tooji was fired from NRK for scandal video – Side2

The artist Tooji Keshtar has sparked a debate after his Monday stood as a homosexual in a music video with scenes of a sexual nature in a church.

In an interview with NRK TV news Monday night asking presenter Atle Bjurstrøm artist it has been difficult for him to come forward.

– I’ve definitely met a lot of resistance in this process. It was really dislike being fired from NRK because of this, says Tooji.

– Not a role model for children

Tooji, who has worked as MGP junior presenter for three years, will be asked to elaborate, explaining that he gave the same project to NRK that he gave to the church.

– I said I need to do this. It is important that I stand up and I show that homosexuality should not be shameful anymore. We must make a change in exactly this, he says.

He continues:

– The foundation that I was fired was that this (music video journ.anm.) Was not compatible with being a role model for children.

Head of Communications at NRK Hilde Ebeltoft Skaugrud confirms this.

– It is true that Tooji should have been the host for MGP junior, but the music video is of such a nature that it is not consistent with being presenter of a children’s program, says Ebeltoft Skaugrud.

She emphasizes that it is important for NRK that it is evident that this does not have anything with sexual orientation to do.

Got a choice

Previously, entertainment editor at NRK, Charlo Halvorsen, stated that Tooji even chose to withdraw from the presenter role.

– Tooji has decided to pursue his musical career for a while, then he is sadly not relevant as presenter of “MGP jr” this year. But we have full understanding for the decision and he just wants lots of luck, says Halvorsen VG.

On Monday night says Halvorsen told TV2 that Tooji had a choice before he was fired.

– We learned that the video would be launched the same week as the release of the final participants of MGP junior. Then he election, we would love to have him, between being the host for MGP junior or whether he would pursue his musical career, says Halvorsen.
